CABS-Cardiff gets an award from the National Lottery Community Fund Wales
Our 3 Learning Clubs for adults with a learning disability can continue from September
THREE Learning Clubs for adults with a learning disability can continue for another year.
Our three Learning Clubs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday can run again and all of them can now be for two hours at Hubs around Cardiff.
We can continue to offer these basic skills learning clubs at no charge.
Using Songs and games our learning clubs offer adults with learning disabilities to practise using numbers and words in everyday life. There’s usually a chance for a social cuppa and a chat as well.
Dr Margaret Collins, Chair of CABS-Cardiff said:
“We are so pleased to receive this award, which will allow us to continue our basic skills learning clubs and even extend their length.
Our Learning Clubs will now run in public community spaces which would foster community inclusion and increased social visibility.
While I feel that this work should be supported and funded by government, our work is filling a gap in provision and really changing lives, enabling social engagement and increasing the visibility of participants in the community.”
Our Learning Clubs will take place:
- on Wednesday afternoons at Llanrumney Hub;
- on Thursday afternoons at Llanishen Hub;
- on Friday afternoons at Ely and Caerau Hub;
